In our ongoing efforts to modernize university systems and enhance efficiency, we are pleased to announce a new project to migrate our existing Ellucian ERP system to the Ellucian Colleague SaaS platform.
The Colleague modernization project has several advantages:
Ellucian Colleague SaaS offers greater compatibility with emerging technologies and the ability for the system to be adaptable through the leverage of cloud infrastructure.
The cloud-based platform delivers improved performance, streamlining operations and user experience.
The new system prioritizes security with advanced safeguards to protect university data.
Ellucian Colleague SaaS leverages the Amazon cloud infrastructure featuring built-in disaster recovery capabilities, ensuring system uptime and business continuity.
The standardized Ellucian SaaS platform reduces the need for extensive customizations, simplifying maintenance and training.
Ellucian Colleague SaaS comes pre-integrated with key applications such as Brightspace, eliminating the need for custom scripts and enhancing data flow.
The project is planned to span over 18 months. A contract has been signed with Ellucian and consulting firm BHA Technologies to perform the base requirements of the work. ITS programming staff and university departments will need to be involved in the project as well. Initial steps include the following:
Departmental team leads will be established to facilitate communication and identify periods when departments will have limited availability to work on migration and implementation tasks.
Based on department blackout periods, Ellucian and BHA project managers will develop a comprehensive timeline and implementation plan.
