ITS has been working directly with Ellucian on various aspects of the Colleague Modernization Project. The Colleague and Brightspace product known as Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP) was recently deployed to the Colleague and Brightspace test environments. ILP enables Brightspace course creation from Colleague, replacing the current manual process. This new creation process can potentially accelerate course creation and the enrollment of instructors and students in Brightspace courses. The ILP integration also offers a grade "pass back" feature, allowing faculty to send grades from Brightspace to Colleague instead of entering grades in both systems.
Ellucian's personalized dashboard product called Experience was also recently deployed. Experience is a prerequisite application for Ellucian's reporting tool, Insights. Further information about Experience and Insights will be provided in a forthcoming update. In March, AU functional groups will receive an introduction to Insights, and in April, reporting discovery sessions will be held for functional groups, similar to the current modernization and optimization sessions these groups are currently attending.
The modernization project requires several test migrations before the final migration in January 2026. The initial migration is scheduled for mid-March. This first migration establishes the foundation for building reports in the new system and provides further insight into areas requiring focus during the migration process.
