ITS recently completed the second test migration from the existing Colleague environment to the Ellucian Colleague SaaS platform in collaboration with Ellucian. This migration phase focused on customized code made compliant by the ITS Colleague team. A third test migration is tentatively scheduled for July and will serve as the user acceptance testing phase, allowing departments to validate their existing processes within the new cloud environment.
ITS is addressing third-party Colleague integrations to ensure continued functionality following the cloud transition. Some integrations are incompatible with the cloud environment and will require new solutions. The current Colleague printing method is incompatible; ITS is working with SoftDocs to deploy their Serv application. This solution will maintain template-based printing processes, while Ellucian's Cloud Print application will handle non-template-based printing needs. ITS will communicate directly with departments who are using template printing processes about migrating to Serv before the Colleague migration is complete.
In collaboration with Ellucian, ITS is also working to implement the Experience application, which provides a personalized portal interface for students, faculty, and staff. Beginning tentatively in July, browsers on AU computers will default to Experience instead of Okta, though Experience will include a launchpad card for accessing Okta Applications and Okta itself.
